Ecological Responsibility

Renewable Energy Sources

Sustainability plays a central role for us at APD Schlauchtechnik GmbH. At our production site in Viersen, which we moved into in 2017, we have a large-scale photovoltaic system. Despite our high energy requirements as a production company, we generate more electricity with our PV system than we consume. In addition to the photovoltaic system, we also have state-of-the-art lighting technology. Through the targeted use of renewable energies, we are reducing our ecological footprint and actively focussing on sustainable solutions for the future.

Energy Efficiency

Our machines and systems are designed for high energy efficiency. Whether production, cooling or heating systems - we make targeted investments in modern technologies to minimise resource consumption and environmental impact. This not only reduces operating costs, but also strengthens the sustainability of our company. We also rely on advanced lighting solutions: LED systems, intelligent controls and motion sensors ensure optimum illumination with minimal energy consumption. Switching to energy-saving lighting technologies reduces power consumption and extends the service life of the lighting systems.

Waste Avoidance & Recycling

Another significant step towards sustainability is being taken at our plant in Viersen through the extensive recycling of offcuts. The recycling rate of fabric and mono-extruded hoses into the in-house raw material cycle is already around 90%. The recycled plastic mixtures from the spiral hoses are also used to manufacture other plastic products. Our central Research and Development Department in Mörfelden near Frankfurt is continuously working to extend the service life of our products in the long term, thereby making a significant contribution to resource-saving behaviour in industrial sectors.

Heating

The warm air generated by cooling the production machines is used to heat the halls in winter, eliminating the need for additional gas heating. In this way, existing resources are utilised efficiently.

Water Protection

Water consumption at the plant in Viersen is reduced to a minimum thanks to a dedicated cooling circuit. Two water tanks, each with 20,000 litres, supply production with only the amount of water required, which is then recycled via a circuit. Thanks to advanced filter technology, the water quality in the circulation system remains consistently high. This means that the cooling water in our new production building only needs to be replaced around once a year.

Promotion of E-Mobility

The integration of electromobility is already a central component of our sustainability concept wherever it makes ecological sense. Our current efforts are focussed on the electrification of our vehicle fleet.

Durability & Quality of the Products

We attach great importance to the use of high-quality materials and precise workmanship to ensure that our products are not only functional, but also remain of high quality in the long term. This extends the service life of the products and reduces the need for frequent replacement purchases.
